Mainline clogs vs. branch-line clogs
Branch-line clogs affect one fixture — a sink, a tub, a single toilet. Mainline clogs affect everything that drains: multiple toilets, gurgling tubs, water rising in the lowest drain when you flush. Knowing which one you’ve got changes the whole job.
We figure that out in the first few minutes on site.
Sewer cameras — the only way to be sure
Once a line’s cleared, we run a sewer camera through it when there’s any reason to suspect roots, breaks, sags, or offsets. The camera tells us — and you — exactly what’s going on, and where, and how deep. No guesswork. No $10,000 dig based on a hunch.
Hydro-jetting vs. cable cleaning
Cables work great for soft clogs. Hydro-jetting — high-pressure water — is better for grease, soap, and root masses. We pick based on the line’s material, age, and what the camera shows. Old, weak pipe gets a gentler approach.
Sewer repair — trenchless and traditional
Sometimes the sewer line really does need work. Where it makes sense, we’ll quote trenchless options — pipe bursting or lining — that can save your driveway, lawn, or hardscape. Where the access or pipe condition rules that out, we do traditional dig-and-replace cleanly and to code.
We don’t push trenchless when it’s wrong, and we don’t skip it when it’s right.
Roots, age, and OC sewer realities
Older OC homes — particularly Orange, Anaheim, and Fullerton — often run cast iron or clay sewer lines that are root magnets. Coastal homes deal with corrosion. Newer Irvine and South-OC builds usually have ABS or PVC, but we see flange issues, clean-out problems, and yard improvements that crushed lines.
If your sewer’s acting up, it’s rarely random. We find the real cause.

Common questions about sewer clearing & repair
Do you camera the sewer line?
Yes — when there’s any sign of roots, recurring backups, or pipe damage.
Is trenchless always better?
No. It’s great when it fits. We’ll tell you when it doesn’t.
How long does a sewer repair take?
Spot repairs: 1 day. Full replacements: 2–4 days, depending on length and access.
Will my yard or driveway get torn up?
With trenchless, often very little. With dig-and-replace, we restore the area cleanly and explain what’s involved upfront.
Can roots really break a sewer line?
Yes, especially in old clay or cast-iron pipe. Once roots are in, they keep coming back unless you fix the line.
